Biometrics, passwordless authentication and encryption key tech demoed at RSA Conference 2020

The annual RSA Conference is on this week in San Francisco, bringing together leading online biometrics and digital identity providers, along with the rest of the cybersecurity industry.

Thales has announced the launch of new passwordless authentication devices tested for FIDO2 and Microsoft Azure AD, and is demonstrating them at RSA 2020, according to a company announcement. The new product offers passwordless access to all Azure-AD connected apps and services.

The 2019 Thales Access Management Index says 49 percent of business consider cloud apps a target for cyber attacks, and the 2019 Thales Cloud Security Study shows only 53 percent of companies control the keys to their own encrypted data stored in the cloud. Thales is demonstrating technologies at the show to help organizations improve on both fronts.

Thales VP of Research and Technology for Cloud Protection and Licensing Activity Sol Cates will also deliver a presentation on best practices and different approaches for maintaining access and control over encryption keys at the event on February 26.

The company’s virtual reality experience is also back at RSA, and attendees are invited to “beat the hackers” in a simulated data center attack at booth 5445.

FIDO2 is also a focus for HID Global at RSA this year, where the company is demonstrating its FIDO2 authentication and zero trust converged access solutions, including smart cards, USB keys and cloud-based credential management for physical and digital access security.

USB-C support for the HID Crescendo Key Series family has reached general availability, the company has announced, and the Crescendo series is among products HID is demonstrating at both 4404.

“HID Global provides the industry’s only complete FIDO2 authentication solution for the workplace that provides a converged access experience from the door to on-premise IT systems and cloud resources,” states Brad Jarvis, VP and Managing Director of Identity & Access Management Solutions (IAMS) with HID Global. “Besides making it easier and more cost-effective to deploy FIDO2 on employees’ corporate ID badges and other form factors, we increase value with HID IdenTrust digital certificates that give authenticators signing and encryption capabilities for email and documents. Our goal is to help drive adoption of FIDO2-based passwordless authentication by extending its benefits throughout the workplace.”

imageware systems at RSA

ImageWare is at RSA 2020 demonstrating GoVerifyID and its new support for MacOS, along with its facial recognition anti-spoofing solution and other major products.

The company plans to talk to enterprise customers about switching from passwords to biometrics and Secure 2FA, and is offering complimentary expo passes through its website. Find ImageWare at booth 3225.

Entrust Datacard and its nCipher Security subsidiary are showcasing encryption key technologies for cloud databases, and passwordless biometric employee authentication at the show’s exhibit.

The recently-announced biometric Entrust Datacard Passwordless SSO Authentication, which allows employees to use their phones as virtual smart cards, along with nCipher hardware security modules (HSMs) and Identity Proofing technology for customer onboarding are among offerings the companies will share at RSA 2020.

The companies are exhibiting their technology at booth S-2139

TypingDNA is also inviting RSA attendees to try out its typing biometrics in person at booth 4409.

A consortium led by Symphony Technology Group announced last week it has reached a deal to acquire RSA from Dell Technologies for more than $2 billion. The transaction, which includes the purchase of RSA Archer, RSA NetWitness Platform, RSA SecurID, RSA Fraud and Risk Intelligence and RSA Conference, is expected to close in the next six to nine months.
