Microsoft is boosting its industry-cloud solutions with the announcement of three new programs. To help get these new Azure offerings off the ground, the company has worked directly with partners. On Wednesday, Microsoft revealed cloud programs focused on nonprofit organizations, manufacturing, and finance.
It is worth noting the programs are not specifically new products, but more additional solutions within existing Microsoft Cloud. For example, they increase the capabilities of platforms such as Azure, Microsoft Teams, and Dynamics 365:
- Microsoft Cloud for Financial Services
- Microsoft Cloud for Manufacturing,
- And Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit
“We created the Microsoft industry clouds by bringing together common data models, cross-cloud connectors, workflows, APIs, and industry-specific components and standards, with the breadth of Microsoft’s cloud services, including Microsoft 365 and Teams, Azure, Microsoft Power Platform, Dynamics 365 and security solutions. Through these industry clouds, we aim to empower everyone to deliver value faster, adapt quickly to changing conditions, build for the future and do all of this with security at the core.”
The three solutions expand Microsoft’s growing vertical cloud catalog. Previously, the company has released Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare and Microsoft Cloud for Retail. As Microsoft moves deeper into industrial cloud, CEO Satya Nadella in a video pointed to four principles guiding the company:
- Trust in business alignment
- The customer’s data belongs to the customer
- Industry customization support
- Partner support
New Vertical Cloud Solutions
Starting with Microsoft Cloud for Financial Services, a preview for the solution will arrive on March 31, 2021. It will be available for retail banking and feature new tools from Microsoft’s current cloud services.
Next up is Microsoft Cloud for Manufacturing, which won’t arrive in preview until “the end of June 2021”. Microsoft points to this solution adding services to boost factory agility and worker training.
Lastly, the Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit solution will also have a June preview release. It will focus on “engagement and fundraising, staff collaboration, volunteer engagement and management, and program design and delivery.”
Tip of the day:
Did you know that your data and privacy might be at risk if you run Windows 10 without encryption? A bootable USB with a live-linux distribution is often just enough to gain access to all of your files.
If you want to change that, check out our detailed BitLocker guide where we show you how to turn on encryption for your system disk or any other drive you might be using in your computer.
