Malaysia’s biggest property developer in terms of land bank, is embarking on a digital transformation journey with Microsoft as part of the organisation’s efforts to modernise its systems and offer a more enhanced experience to customers.
The collaboration sees Sime Darby Property partnering with Microsoft to adopt its trusted cloud platform Microsoft Azure for best-in-class and secure cloud solutions.
In January 2021, Sime Darby Property became the first property developer in Malaysia to fully migrate its existing core applications and servers to Microsoft Azure cloud.
By moving its servers and applications onto Microsoft Azure, the company aims to fulfil its ambitions to become a data-driven organisation and enable a more secure and reliable infrastructure for rapid innovation.
This move will, in the near future, allow for a hyper-personalised customer-centric business model and promote end-to-end operational excellence from managing procurement contracts to purchase-to-payment systems.
The migration to the cloud is further aligned with Sime Darby Property’s security frameworks and policies in support of their digital aspirations.
“It is crucial to remain digitally mature as we grow within a rapidly changing technological landscape, especially to bring enriching experiences for our customers who are at the heart of everything we do,” said Sime Darby Property group managing director Datuk Azmir Merican.
“Our collaboration with Microsoft is one for the long term, and we are delighted to have them as our technology advisor and partner in the betterment of our products and services.”
Microsoft Malaysia managing director K, Raman said: “Since Microsoft established its presence in Malaysia over 28 years ago, our technology has helped transform the way people work, learn, play and communicate.
“We take heart in being trusted partners of businesses in their digital journey, equipping them with technology that is global, secure and enables them to drive efficiency internally and for their customers.
“We are confident that our trusted cloud solutions will further propel Sime Darby Property’s digital ambitions and bring a more cohesive and seamless experience for their customers and partners in Malaysia.”
Prior to this partnership, Sime Darby Property undertook a comprehensive evaluation of private and public cloud providers, and selected Microsoft Azure as the platform to fuel their transformation.
